Integrable Classical and Quantum Gravity

In these lectures we report recent work on the exact quantization of dimensionally reduced gravity [1, 2, 3, 4]. Assuming the presence of commuting Killing symmetries which effectively eliminate the dependence on all but two space-time coordinates allows us to cast the models into the form of 2d non-linear (G/H)-coset space σ-models coupled to gravity and a dilaton. This construction includes a...

Ballistic transport in classical and quantum integrable systems

Then, we discuss the unconventional finite temperature transport of integrable systems using as example the classical Toda chain and the toy model of a quantum particle interacting with a fermionic bath in one dimension; we focus on the singular long time asymptotic of current-current correlations, we introduce the notion of the Drude weight and we emphasize the role played by conservation laws...

Classical and quantum three-dimensional integrable systems with axial symmetry

We study the most general form of a three dimensional classical integrable system with axial symmetry and invariant under the axis reflection. We assume that the three constants of motion are the Hamiltonian, H , with the standard form of a kinetic part plus a potential dependent on the position only, the z-component of the angular momentum, L, and a Hamiltonian-like constant, H̃, for which the ...

A Class of Completely Integrable Quantum Systems Associated with Classical Root Systems

We classify the completely integrable systems associated with classical root systems whose potential functions are meromorphic at an infinite point.

Integrable hierarchies from BRST-anti-BRST gauge-fixing

The BRST formulation is used in order to derive the existence criterion for classical bi-Hamiltonian systems, based on non-anomalous deformation of the gauge-fixing structure. The recursion operator is then used to provide the entire hierarchy of integrable models associated to the original BRST and anti-BRST charges.
